1929 | Establishment
The Denkavit Group originated from a Rotterdam-based trading company in animal feed ingredients and raw materials, founded in 1929. Since 1951, the company has been located in Voorthuizen in the Veluwe region and “Denkavit” was established to sell raw materials and vitamins for the compound feed industry.
1955 | First calf milk production
In the early 1950s, Denkavit started producing calf milk based on surplus skimmed milk powder. Eventually, the first calf milk was launched on the market in 1955. Since then, calf milk and veal calf production have grown unimaginably nationally and internationally.
1960 | Research Centre
As early as 1959, the first research centre was established at the Voorthuizen location. This is the forerunner of our current Pig Farm and Veal Farm (DenkaFarm Innovation Centre). Research and development are in our DNA and we have over 60 years of experience in the field of research into young animal nutrition and feed ingredients.
1960 – 2000 | Expansion of product range and branches
In the years that followed, many new products and concepts were developed and marketed under the Denkavit brand name. Denkavit expanded within Europe with branches in Germany, and Italy and an additional production location in France.
2002 – Today | Mergers and acquisitions
The past few years have been dominated by growth and expansion. To serve important markets abroad, Denkavit has a branch in Spain (Denkavit Iberica). Denkavit’s growth and expansion have not gone unnoticed in the compound feed industry. Today, Denkavit is a valued player in the market, with whom many parties from Europe and beyond enjoy working. Nutrifeed became part of Denkavit in 2021. This acquisition marked a strengthening in the global young animal nutrition market.
In 2022 we established our entity in China, Holland Agro Trading (Beijing) Co., Ltd (HAT). And in 2023 we acquired Volac Milk Replacers Ltd, in this way we establish our position in the UK market.
2019 | Start of Denkavit USA
In 2019 Denkavit reached an agreement with Grober on the acquisition of their US subsidiary, Grober Nutrition LLC. A company focused on the production of feed ingredients and innovative feeds for young animals in Auburn, New York, USA. This acquisition was a strategic decision for both parties, based on the desire to work together with a partner with the same values about innovation and quality.
