Vitamin D plays an important role in bone metabolism and also has a prominent role in the primary immune system. Many calves start with too low vitamin D levels. And this while young calves are especially susceptible in the first weeks of life. Good resistance is crucial here. For good health, a vitamin D level of 30 ng/mL blood serum is optimal (Nelson et al., 2012). By providing extra vitamin D via Denkacare Vitalcure, calves will reach the ideal vitamin D level faster.
